Amazon Camping Tour 4D/3N
Tour on the South region of Manaus at the Lodge Sol do Amanha on the South region at Maçarico Lake in the Juma reserve.
A minimum of 2 people its required to do this tour. In case of 1 person, please contact us for availability and for group price.
This is a jungle tour package recommended for the explorers, as its a great option to learn about the Amazon as all the activities done in other tours are done here and also there is an opportunity to spend a night of camping out in the forest.
Activities;
Trip Itinerary
Day one: At 8am the group is transferred from the hotel to the Ceasa port where a speed boat is used to take visitors to the meeting of the waters, the point where the Negro river and the Solimões river meet. From there they are taken to the Careiro Village on the other side of the Solimões river. From there the journey continues by car or by van for about an hour to the beginning of Maçarico lake. From there, another speed-boat takes the group to the lodge on a 15 minutes ride arriving there at about 11am.
At 2:30pm – to 3pm, the activities begin, the group leaves by motorized canoe for piranha fishing, dolphin and bird watching and the sunset watching at about 6:30pm. After dinner Cayman (alligátor)spotting its done, It’s an activity where the guide catches a cayman and gives technical information about it.
Day two: From 5:30am to 6:15am a canoe trip is done to watch the sunrise and to get a close up view of the forest waking up to a new day. At 7am breakfast is served and then at 8am a jungle walk starts and it goes up to 11:30am. During the walk, the guide explains valuable information about the forest. Much is learned about medicinal plants, spiders, trees and there is even a chance of seeing monkeys.
The afternoon activity starts at 3pm. It is canoeing in the flooded forest and in the small channels. It is a great opportunity to see and learn about the flora and fauna of this fantastic Amazon jungle.
Day Three: From 8am to 11am, the group goes to visit the home of a local family to see and learn their simple and fantastic way of living in the forest. In the afternoon at 3pm the group leaves for an overnight in the forest. During camping in the forest, the group will learn how to make a fire in the forest and how to make their own food, they will also learn some survival techniques passed on by the guides (english speaking guide and native guide). A great opportunity to learn about the forest getting a close contact with the nature.
Day Four: After having breakfast in the jungle, the group will have another early trekking in the area they were camping before returning to the forest. After this activity, the group returns to the lodge and at 1:30pm they return to Manaus, getting back to the city about 4:30pm.
What to bring for your jungle tour:
Long pants, short pants, long sleeves shirt, t-shirts, Small daypack, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, rain coat, cap, boot or tennis shoes, flashlight, binoculars, swimming suit, Camera, batteries and charger.
Very Important
When travelling to the Amazon and to South America in general, make sure you are vaccinated against yellow fever. Get more information about this from your doctor.
