Tour Done In the Rio Negro region at Anavilhanas Village Lodge.

This tour it’s done staying at the Anavilhnas village Lodge. The staffs will be pleased to receive you and provide a great stay, showing the natural wonders of the region through activities duly designed to provide an authentic Amazon tour experience staffs.

The accommodation at the lodge are in Private accommdation with beds, a/c and private bathroom and during the night of camping in the forest, the accommodation will be in hammock with mosquito nets provided by the lodge. During the staying on the tour, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are provided by the Lodge managed by Mrs. Antonia Maria the Owner and her family.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: 8am transfer hotel- Ceasa – Açutuba – Lodge. The transfer begins going from the hotel to Ceasa port to visit the meeting of the waters (junction of the Rio Negro and Solimões river). After visiting the meeting of the waters, the trip continues for 1.2 hours by car to Açutuba. From this place, there is a 30 minutes boat ride to Anavilhanas Village Lodge. Arriving at there, a welcome drink will be served with the guests being accommodated shortly thereafter.

Between 2:30pm and 3pm, the activities begin. The group leaves by motorized canoe for piranha fishing and a reconnaissance tour through the Anavilhanas Island and region to learn little about the famous Archipelago of Anavilhanas which is formed by about 400 islands and 60 lakes. Finishing the fishing and the reconnaissance trip and also after watching the sunset from the Middle of the river, the group return to the Lodge ending the activities of the first day.

Day 2: At 5:30am (if no rain) begins the first activity of the second day, it’s a short canoe trip to see the nature in the morning. This includes watching the sunrise from the middle of the river and watching species of birds found in the area. After this short trip, the group will return to the Lodge and at 6:45am breakfast is served. From 7:45am to 11am, a jungle trekking is done and during this activity, the guide explains about the forest, medicinal plants, spiders and other insects. There is also a chance to see other animals.

Lunch is served at 12pm and there is a little time to rest before starting the other activity.

In the afternoon at 3pm, the group is taken to the Other side of the Rio Negro for swim with the Dolphin, Birds watching, a little canoe trip passing by the monkey islands. After finishing these activities when it gets dark, the group will continue the trip doing the cayman (alligator) spotting. The guide will spot an aligátor from the boat and show the guests and will explain about it.

Day 3: After breakfast, a canoe trip (paddling) is done exploring the flooded forest and some streams (small tributaries) in the region with a little stop to visit the Community of Jaraqui to see and learn a little of how the people live in the forest. After visitinha the Community the group will return to the lodge ending the tour on that morning. The tour on that day its done from from 7:45am to 11am.

 

In the afternoon about 2:30pm the group will leave the Lodge heading to the indigenous Community (Tatuyos) for a night of camping in the Amazon jungle. Getting there, one or two members from the tribe will Join the group for period of camping in the forest. From the tribe the group walk in to the forest and each guest will carry their own equipments as hammocks, mosquito nets and some of the food that will be consumed during the camping in the forest. The group will do a trekking until a base where they will spend the night. The camping place its usually close to a little stream with clean and driking water, but we do use chlorine to treat the water. Dinner is made by the group and the night will be spent there. Depending on the Weather condition, its possible to do a a short night trekkng for an hour. During this period in the forest, the tour guide together with the indigenous will be explaining about the forest in general, medicinal plants, chance of seen tarântula, Monkeys and other animals.

Day 4: During the camping in the forest, the guests will learn some survival techniques needed to survive in the forest. The indigenous will be with the group during the period of camping and trekking as it is developed in his territory. The camping with the indigenous its a great opportunity of learning about what goes in the forest and to learn from the indigenous about their legends and costums which is very importante to understand how they live in the forest.

After breakfast in the forest, another trekking is done returning to the tribe using a different trail. About 10am the group will reach the tribe and getting there, they are going watch the indigenous ritual (dancing). During the ritual, the tour guide will be translating the meaning of the this process which will be explainned by the chief. Its allowed pictures and vídeos during the performance.

After watching the ritua,l the guests are taken back to the Lodge and getting there the guests will have time for shower or relexing in the pool available.

At 12pm the lunch is served and at 2pm begins the journey back to Manaus getting to the city about 4pm.

 

How to Pack for your Amazon tour:

Boots, Long pants, short pants, long sleeves shirt, t-shirts, Small daypack, sunglasses, insect repellent, rain coat, cap, trekking boots, flashlight, Binoculars, swimming suit, Camera, batteries and charger.
